Myspace in the news again!

Filed under: Personal and Blogging — rephot @ 4:47 pm

You know I really don’t want this to be a rant but I think you really need that some times. I have been listening to my radio and they are talking about all the bad stuff that has been going on with people on myspace.com, so I just want to say my piece about that.In my opinion myspace.com is a great promotional tool for any type of entertainer but it is also a great way to keep in touch with friends or find friends you went to school with but haven’t seen in years. Another option for you is to meet new people that like the same things you do. Now this is the tricky part. Like any place on the net you need to be careful that you don’t give out to much personal information. I get the fact that you might talk to someone a million times on the net through myspace.com, a chat room, group, or what ever. But this doesn’t mean you know these people. Unless you have met them in person and I suggest you do this in a public place with lots of people, you really don’t know who you are talking to. Like anything it’s a risk you need to be willing to take. Even if you meet someone in a club, at a show, or what ever you are taking a risk leaving a public place with them. Another very scary thing I see people do on myspace.com is people post way to much personal information about themselves and there kids. Yeah I’m a proud parent but I would never post pictures of my son with his name and what he likes to do. As a matter of fact there is no information about my son on there at all. I live in an area that is heavily populated with perverts as it is I don’t need to help them figure out where they can grab a kid with no problem. Think about it you have your kids name, your name and other personal information on your profile. Now you add a pervert in to the mix who now is armed with all this information. He can go to say the park your child likes to play at. Calls your child by their name and tells them their mommy (remember they have the mommy’s name to) told them to pick them up. Even if the child is smart and asks questions the pervert may have the information to answer the questions. Or if you don’t have kids your name, where you live, what you like and where you hang out. Well now some freak knows all about you and what you look like. So he comes up to you in say a bar claims he loves everything you do and wants to go someplace more quiet to get to know you. You go than the next thing you know it’s not what you had planed at all because you get raped or worse. Sure that could happen anyway but why help the weirdo’s. I know you all are thinking could this chick get any more paranoid. Well I like to think I’m careful. I do have a son and I don’t ever want him getting a call that I’m dead in a ditch because I did something with out thinking. All I’m saying is that people need to think before they do stuff. I’m sure I have stuff on my page that I probably shouldn’t have but I have a lot less information than some. Now that I have said my piece I’m going to step down off my soap box. I feel that if my rant helps one person it was worth it. Plus it makes me feel better! Until next time think before you do something and if you don’t feel comfortable about something there is probably a reason.

Music World Music/Sony Urban Music/Columbia Records will release "B'Day,"
the much-anticipated new solo album from Beyoncé, on Tuesday, September 5.

"B'Day" will be released worldwide on September 4, Beyoncé's 25th birthday.

The pop music superstar's sophomore studio album premieres all new music
produced, written and arranged by Beyoncé. "Deja Vu," the album's first single,
features guest artist Jay-Z with production by Rodney Jerkins. Beyoncé's
producers on B'Day include Rich Harrison, Sean Garrett, The Neptunes, and Swizz
Beatz. B'Day is executive produced by Beyoncé and Mathew Knowles.

Beyoncé's new album is the artist's first full-length solo work since her
..1 multi-platinum 2003 solo debut, "Dangerously In Love," which earned her
five 2004 Grammy Awards including Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best R&B Song
("Crazy In Love"). With her five-in-one-year Grammy win, Beyoncé tied the
record for the most Grammys to be won in a single year by a female artist.
"Dangerously In Love" and "Crazy In Love" made chart history when both album and
single simultaneously hit ..1 in the U.S. and the UK (which hadn't happened
since 1983). Beyoncé toured for the first time as a solo artist in 2003 in
support of "Dangerously In Love," which has sold more than 11 million records
worldwide.

Intro musician opportunity- Skip the Label

Filed under: Uncategorized — rephot @ 3:14 pm

This company is not affiliated with REP we are just sharing the information.

 Introductory offer for www.skipthelabel.com
<http://www.skipthelabel.com/>

$20 off any sell your music package

coupon code- skip20

coupon valid through June 30, 2006

www.skipthelabel.com <http://www.skipthelabel.com/>   plans and intent:
the intent at Skip the label is to support local unsigned musicians and
give them a better option for sales with "1-stop shopping" which
can even be used as an EPK. Currently, there are several web sites where
unsigned musicians can showcase their music, unfortunately, they are
stuck with giving away music for free, or they are on a download MP3
site to sell BUT are like billboards in the desert no one sees. Another
discovery you may have seen is that if a musician has several items for
sale, CD, MP3 and T-shirts/bumper stickers for sale, they have to sell
their items on several different web sites and hot link them all
together (which results in lost sales because as we all know fans tend
to go to only 1 web page) or a musician has to be willing to pay approx
$1000 for a web master to build a web/e-commerce site for them.

www.skipthelabel.com <http://www.skipthelabel.com/>   is an answer all
of these concerns.

Package #1- MP3 sales only

Package #2- CD & MP3 sales only

Package #3- CD & MP3 sales & more artist content

Package #4- CD & MP3 & Merchandise with more artist content

Package #5- up to 4 CD/Body of works & MP3 & Merchandise with more
artist content

Package #6- up to 8 CD/Body of works & MP3 & Merchandise with more
artist content

Package #7- for music publishers, no music sales, demo for other
musicians to buy song rights from singer/ song writer

 Once www.skipthelabel.com <http://www.skipthelabel.com/>   has built a
community or artist, then we plan to advertise to the enormous fan base
of unsigned "local" musicians by advertising in hard print to the
art/music papers nationwide as well as continued advertising on the web
inviting fans to browse through the artist at Skip the Label which can
result in more sales for you and even broaden your fan base.

Skip the Label was launched about 1 month ago, it is supported by
Yadmaker Music (an indie label) the strong intent with Skip the Label is
to support and give an avenue of support for unsigned artist (as well as
being used as a filter, a virtual A&R for Yadmaker to sign potential
future artist)
